Terms of Service
Last updated 5 July 2026
By using The Gauntlet you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
Accounts
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Provide accurate information, and don’t impersonate others or share your account. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you submit (submissions, rulesets, comments, reviews, permadeath uploads). By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, display and distribute it on the site. You’re responsible for having the right to post it.
Acceptable use
- No spam, automated flooding, or attempts to manipulate ratings, reputation or leaderboards.
- No harassment, hate speech, illegal content, or uploading material you don’t have rights to.
- No scraping, reverse-engineering, or abusing the API or upload tokens beyond their intended use.
- Permadeath uploads must be your own runs; don’t upload others’ content or anything not safe for a general audience.
Moderation
We may edit, hide or remove content, and warn, suspend or ban accounts, at our discretion — including in response to community reports. We aim to be fair; contact us if you believe an action was mistaken.
Reputation, ranks & badges
Reputation, ranks and badges are cosmetic recognition with no monetary value. We may recalculate, adjust or reset them, including penalising manipulation or removing rewards tied to deleted content.
Third-party services
Game data, store links and Steam integrations reference third parties who have their own terms. We don’t control and aren’t responsible for external sites or the accuracy of third-party data.
Disclaimer & liability
The site is provided “as is” without warranties. Game details, prices, difficulty ratings and player counts may be inaccurate or out of date. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from your use of the site.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
